  1. The photo was taken in the spring of 2014, on Assateague Island. I love red winged blackbirds. So I was thrilled at his presence.

  2. I have always thought the Red-winged Blackbirds were beautiful! That little splash of color makes him so beautifully unique and they are sassy birds too! Gotta love them!!!

    1. Ruth, I thought they were only a mid-western bird. So imagine my surprise and happiness when I find that they live here in the marshes too. I love seeing them.

    1. Thank you Susan. I love these birds. This one was visiting all of the beach blankets. And he was so bold. I think he was looking for crumbs.

    1. Thank you so much for the kind comments. The watches are a reminder to "do time on my behind" and write. They were all for sale at the Apple Harvest Festival. I wanted to buy them all.

  7. How terrific that you had your camera ready to capture this moment. Birds seldom stay 'put' long enough to get a picture. Nice. :)

    1. Terrific and very lucky! That photo was taken on Assateague Island. I always keep my camera very handy, in case the wild ponies come by. I was very lucky to have this visitor. He was fearless.
